This it’s a technic very useful to make biotechnological drugs; joining together of DNA molecules from two different species that are inserted into a host organism to produce new genetic combinations that are of value to science, medicine, agriculture, and industry. Since the focus of all genetics is the gene, the fundamental goal of laboratory geneticists is to isolate, characterize, and manipulate genes.
This technic it’s very important in Chemistry and pharmacy’s area because help us to make biotechnological drugs that are used to many illness treatments.

I learn about it in a university class and I thought that it was very interesting how a change in our genes plus technology could help a lot the health of people by the creation of biotechnological drugs.
So as you can see this technic has a very advantage like quantity production of complex proteins or peptides which cannot be made by other methods produce organisms which produce useful products such as bacteria creating insulin, removal of the need to use extracts from mammalian organs. Although some disadvantages like technically complicated thus expensive in industrial scale, the difficulties identifying genes of value in a huge genome treatment of DNA with restriction enzyme produced millions of fragments with no use and not all eukaryotic genes will express themselves in prokaryotic cells
Anyway, I hope that the technology of DNA recombinant keeps making new development in biotechnical drug to treat new diseases like cancer and many others.
